Staying for another semester

If your nomination was for one semester but you would like to extend your stay, please contact your home university, and complete the relevant steps in Mobility-Online.

Deadlines for extension applications:

  • EU/EEA citizens: 15 January for winter semester students, 15 June for summer semester students
  • Non-EU/EEA citizens: 15 December for winter semester students, 15 May for summer semester students
  • ISEP/Hendrix students: 1 November for winter semester students, 15 May for summer semester students
  • Go Styria students: only in case of extension call by the announced deadline

If your extension is confirmed:

  1. You need to re-register: pay your fee for the Austrian Students' Union
  2. Register for courses within the course registration timeframes of the second semester
  3. Take care to extend your housing arrangement
  4. Non-EU/EEA students: arrange for appropriate health insurance for the residence permit and apply for a residence permit within the legal timeframe
  5. EU/EEA students: make sure their EHIC card is valid for the extension period
  6. In case of different insurances: they must also be extended where applicable
