Where is Austria / Graz?
Austria is located in the southern part of central Europa and shares its borders with nine other countries, such as Italy to the South, Switzerland to the West and Germany to the North. Graz lies in the east of the country and has a great location for traveling to various places like Venice, Budapest or Munich in just a few hours.
The City inhabits around 300.000 people and due to its many universities and colleges, about 60.000 of its inhabitants are students. The city's historic centre belongs to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites and is well known for its red roofs that characterize its look from above. But better see for yourself when you climb the Schlossberg (Castle Hill) which lies in the very heart of the city and offers a beautiful view.
Climate
The climate in Graz is continental, so winters are cold (down to minus 15°C), and summers are hot (around 30°C). Homes and student residences are well insulated, with central heating to ensure indoor temperatures remain comfortable.
