UNIGRAZcard
The UNIGRAZcard is your official student ID card identifying you as a student of the University of Graz. It acts as an official student ID, access to library services, access to areas restricted to students, access to student discounts. If topped up with credit it can also be used for printing/scanning/copying on campus.
Once you have paid the student union fee and subsequently activated your student account with the PIN Code, you can apply for and order the UNIGRAZcard in your UNIGRAZonline student account as follows:
- Go to https://online.uni-graz.at → “Employees and students” → login
Enter your Uni Graz email address + password of your activated student account
If you are not on campus, you will need VPN+MFA for login to university systems - Go to “StudentCard Image Upload” in your student account
Upload a passport-sized photo in high resolution making sure you are clearly recognizable on the photo
To order your UNIGRAZcard, proceed to “apply for student ID card” and choose one of the available options.
The first time issuing of your UNIGRAZcard is free.
- Pick-up at the kiosk / self-collection at the kiosk → recommended option
When the card is ready for pick-up, a QR code will be sent to your official Uni Graz email address.
You can use the QR-code to print your UNIGRAZcard at the kiosk in the foyer of the University Library. - Apply for student ID card → this option requires you to make an appointment with Academic Affairs to pick up the card there.
You will not receive notification when the card is ready, generally issuing the card takes 4-5 working days.

Bring an original official photo ID (passport, identity card, driver’s license) to the appointment
If you have picked up your UNIGRAZcard from the Academic Affairs Office, the card will already be activated for the current semester.
If you have picked up your UNIGRAZcard at the kiosk, you need to activate it at one of the service points:
- 24/7 study area next in the university library annex (Universitätsplatz 3a), ground floor
- Infopoint of UNI-IT in the ReSowi building section GE (Universitätsstraße 15)
- ÖH student union Service Center (Schuberstraße 6)
- Foyer in the WALL building (Merangasse 70)
- Foyer of the University main building (Universitätsplatz 3)
You have two options for adding print-credit to your UNIGRAZcard
- in person at the ÖH student union service center (Schubertstraße 6)
- online by following the instructions → click here
In case of a full year stay, the validity of the UNIGRAZcard must be extended for the next semester at one of the service points.
This is only possible once the student union payment for the next semester has been received in the University’s account.
